To register with a GP (General Practitioner / family doctor) in Vilnius, a resident must choose a primary health care centre (poliklinika or private clinic) and formally register with a family doctor there.
Select a public or private primary health care institution that provides family doctor services.
Common options in Vilnius:
Centro Poliklinika – https://www.pylimas.lt
Antakalnio Poliklinika – https://www.antakpol.lt
Karoliniškių Poliklinika – https://www.karpol.lt
Šeškinės Poliklinika – https://www.poliklinika.lt/

Public clinics are usually free if the person is covered by Lithuanian Compulsory Health Insurance (PSD).
Registration can be done in two ways:
In person at the clinic reception.
Online through the national e-health system: https://www.esveikata.lt
The clinic will ask for:
Passport or ID card
Lithuanian personal code (asmens kodas) if available
Residence permit (for foreigners)
Contact details
The clinic will provide a list of available family doctors (šeimos gydytojai). The patient selects one and signs a registration form.
After registration:
The selected GP becomes the primary contact for medical care.
The GP provides referrals to specialists if needed.
Appointments can be booked through the clinic system or eSveikata.
Registration is typically possible if the person lives in Lithuania and has PSD insurance (through work, studies, or voluntary contributions).
Without PSD, services can still be accessed privately for a fee.
Registration usually takes 10–15 minutes at the clinic reception.
