The city of Vilnius is opening up opportunities for residents of foreign origin to learn Lithuanian for free.
We invite you to register for courses designed to improve your language skills, facilitate integration, and encourage active participation in city life. These courses, lasting 75 academic hours, are organized in cooperation with Vytautas Magnus University and offer the opportunity to receive an academic certificate with ECTS credits.
The training is tailored to different proficiency levels and stages of integration—from beginners looking to navigate daily communication to advanced learners aiming for effective participation in professional and community life. In addition to academic classes, we will later invite you to join Lithuanian Language Clubs, where you can practice speaking, meet like-minded people, and integrate into the city community faster.
Lithuanian language training is open to all non-EU citizens and stateless persons who hold a Lithuanian residence permit and have registered their place of residence in Vilnius. Registration has already begun; prior to the training, participants will be able to assess their current language level and choose the most convenient learning format.
UPDATE: Registration is temporarily suspended. It will reopen in June 2026 as groups are formed for the next phase. Register here:
